I wanted a job as a teenager to earn my own money. I worked at Sears, two boutiques, and in our new mall during my teen years. Christmas was always crazy but when they began to mark up price tags then SUPPOSEDLY add BIG discounts it became insane with pushing, shoving, wrestling over items.
I STILL did NOT learn.
As a young mom, I sat in KMart from 6am until 3am with my paid raffle tickets to insure I got my little girls Cabbage Patch Kids, and my sons ET stuffed animals. And dashed out past the sour looks and watchful eyes of those still waiting and those who did not win.

My mom and sisters got up at 3am to dress to the nines and then to be at the Mall before opening at 6am for several years, then was shoved and pushed and raced for our stores of choice with the items we wanted.
Decades later, they are still joining the mob and the mania at Christmas time.
The city is grid locked with in town and out of town manic shoppers EVERY WHERE.
