Hi phamily!! I have missed you all!! I have been busy taking care of some friends that I have known for 30 years and they were both hospitalized. The husband fell and ended up going to a rehab and now in an Assisted Living Facility. The wife after visiting him one evening in the hospital starting getting very very sick. She called an ambulance and was rushed into emergency surgery due to a huge hernia that had blocked food from going into her stomach. During surgery they found that the hernia had pushed all her internal organs into different places inside her body. Her heart, lungs, liver, were all compromised because the hernia had been encroaching on them. Luckily the hospital located a thoracic surgeon that was able to repair the mess. She was then put on a feeding tube and draining tube. I have been staying with her for quite some time now to help her with all of that since she has no family near her that could help. I am happy to say that she has come through all of that with flying colors. It was a lot to contend with but she is now able to cook her own food and take care of herself again. She celebrated her 80th birthday this past January but she is doing really well. You would not know she is 80. I’m sure she has a long life to live yet! Now we try to see what can be done for her husband. He has lost all strength in his legs and can no longer walk or even transfer from a bed to a wheelchair without 2 people helping him. He has some dementia that seems to come and go. I hope that those MedBeds come soon.

During this time, I did not realize that my membership had lapsed when I had to change my credit card due to fraud. So I now have rectified that and I am back. I am still dealing with my own issues that primarily consist of the loss of short term memory. I’m tired a lot but I have my sweet Daisy doggie to keep me going.
